Gyms and local parks are now ghost towns. Going outside the house even for a walk might not be safe. During these times of quarantine and lockdowns you might be feeling a bit anxious but don’t let these things get in your way of staying fit.

A good workout is necessary to keep both your mind and body active. Here are some fun workout ideas you can do at home.

1. YOGA CAN DO WONDERS

You can try out some asanas or gentle stretches. Due to Ramadan and fasting your digestive system remains empty. On a physical level, this helps your yoga sessions be more effective. Since you might not have the equipment and during Ramadan, it is better to take on light workouts. Yoga is the perfect choice.

2. AROUND THE HOUSE IN 90 SECONDS

Try walking around the house briskly. Do it plenty of times from point A to B. Do the same thing but with stairs. If you are on the phone then do it while walking instead of sitting down. Just careful not to stub your toe in any furniture.

3. HOW ABOUT SOME OLD FITNESS DVDs

Yes, the ones with the dance routines. You won’t need any equipment, you can do it indoors, you can have your kids join in as well, it’s fun and most importantly it helps burn some serious calories.

4. CREATE YOUR OWN ROUTINE

There are plenty of activities that you can easily do indoors. For starters, you can try the planking and squats. If you have a low stool then use it for step-ups. And if you have this one equipment, a skipping rope then you’re all set for your routine.

5. SAME HOUSEWORK BUT DIFFERENT ENERGY

Light housework like dusting and straightening up can burn up to 150 calories and tougher jobs like scrubbing can burn up to 190. Making your bed, changing the sheets, doing the laundry, dusting, and washing up all of these things can help you burn calories.

Be careful not to make it too intensive while fasting. Be creative and make your own lockdown cardio.
